Green mountain boxwood is one of the hybrids developed in Canada at the famous Sheridan Nursery. These hybrids can withstand very cold temperatures and maintain good color. Green mountain has a small leaf and a very full habit making it ideal for many applications. It is a vigorous growing boxwood when young, with dense upright form and bright green leaves that retain their color through winter. It is not only wind and air pollution tolerant, it's easy to transplant with shallow roots. The flowers attract bees, and it is deer resistant. All of the hybrids are less likely than other boxwoods to yellow in winter, but the Green Mountain is truly pyramidal, making it ideal for a tall hedge or corner placement.

This relative of the classic PeeGee Hydrangea produces large flower heads starting in midsummer. They begin creamy white but turn pink two weeks later and then become strawberry red or even burgundy, retaining that shade for about 3-4 weeks. New flower heads continue opening into late summer, so plants display all three color stages at any one time. Give this easy-care Hydrangea full sun to partial shade and average garden soil. It will grow 6-7 feet tall. NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE IN THESE US STATES AND TERRITORIES: AK, HI, GM, PR, VI While we ship throughout the year, our nursery is located in USDA planting zone 5. A revolutionary breakthrough in bittersweet culture. Imagine never having to wonder if you're buying or selling a male or female plant again. The majority of the flowers formed on Autumn RevolutionTM are perfect, meaning that the flower itself has both male and female parts. In other words, you only need one plant to bear fruit. Perhaps because of this unique characteristic the fruit production is absolutely extraordinary and the berry size is twice that of the species. Should most definitely be considered for commercial production. Florists we've shown this to were awestruck. Truly an extraordinary improvement for this beloved native vine. "One of the most important new plant introductions of the last 50 years." Michael Dirr, Horticultural Rock Star. Yes, the Endless Summer has its own web site, its own ads and seems to have more blog posts than Global Warming... but does it live up to the hype? Here are some common claims and what you can actually expect: Claim #1 - You Get 6 Months of Continual Blooms! Endless Summer blooms from early summer to the first frost. Milder climates should see pretty consistent blooms until around Thanksgiving, except for a brief week or two in August when they may get a little sparse. Northerners will see full blooms for 3-4 months. Most other hydrangeas only bloom early for a few weeks, and then they're done... thus the name "Endless Summer". Claim #2- The Only Hydrangea That Will Still Bloom if Hit by a Late Spring Frost! Newer varieties are becoming Frost Proof. Endless Summer was the first and is the highest quality frost proof hydrangea. Some gardeners have commented on reduced flowering after freak cold snaps, but we've never seen any reduction. Claim #3- Revolutionized Northern Shade Gardening while still Thriving in the South! The Endless Summer Hydrangea was developed in Minnesota, so you know it's cold hardy. Old hydrangeas could only survive to zone 6- the Endless Summer goes down to zone 4! They are very tolerant to both extreme heat and extreme cold. Claim #4- You get Huge Blooms the Size of Your Head! We have seen the 5 ft. tall branches dressed up as people during Halloween. After the first year, the blooms are about 8-10 inches in diameter. They make long lasting indoor floral arrangements. Plus, Endless Summers put out even more flowers after you cut them back. Claim #5- You can Change Your Bloom Colors! You can show off your Gardening Ju Jitsu by changing the acidity of your soil. Blue flowers appear in acidic soil, bright pink ones in alkaline. It's actually a neat way to test your dirt. Claim #6- One of the Few Hydrangeas to Bloom
Fittingly 'cast-iron plant' is named for its seeming ability to last forever in the most adverse conditions. Aspidistra elatior is a grand addition to the shade garden. It has wide, evergreen leaves that rise up from tough, rhizomatous roots. The lance shaped leaves are dark green and leathery, and around 12-20 in (30-50 cm) long. The appearance of cast-iron plant is decidedly vertical. Some types of aspidistra are variegated with creamy streaks or dots; some are shorter than the species. (This one has some very light streaks of white in the center of a few leaves). The plants spread in clumps, vigorously but at a moderate enough rate not to be invasive or even troublesome. The flowers are borne close to the ground and never even seen unless one deliberately searches for them. Cast-iron plant is one of the best choices you can make for areas with dim light (such as indoors) or otherwise unfavorable conditions. Zone 7-10
Guayusa is native to the Amazon rain forest. This is an attractive small tree with large, glossy leaves in abundance. The leaves are employed either dried or fresh by many indigenous tribes of the Amazon Basin. It makes a VERY tasty tea not unlike Yerba Mate` (Live Plants are available to Amazon customers by GateKeeper Botanicals). A 1,500 year old bundle of dried guayusa leaves was found by Harvard University botanist Richard Evans Schultes in a Holy mans' tomb high in the Bolivian Andes, Far beyond the natural range of the plant. This wonderful plant is rarely offered for cultivation and I am Very Proud to be able to get these Beautiful Specimens in circulation. My HIGHEST Recommendation! Also makes an outstanding container plant or outside year round as a landscape addition in zones 10+. * FULL SATISFACTION GUARANTEE *
