1 LB (233,000+ Seeds) Dichondra Lawn Grass Seed - Fun Sun Or Part Shade - GROWS EASILY - LOW MAINTENANCE - Zones 6 And UP
Dichondra Lawn Grass Seed Dichondra is a high quality, low growing warm season lawn grass. Dichondra grows well in full sun to partial shade. Dichondra will suffer damage from frost and should be applied in the warm climate areas. Dichondra is suitable for low maintenance areas that are difficult to mow. Dichondra is able to be mowed and maintained as a beautiful low growing lawn, pasture or erosion prone area. Dichondra seed is a great choice for warm climate application areas. Dichondra seed should be applied at 2 to 3 pounds per 1000 sq. ft. for best results. Dichondra is a small genus of flowering plants in the morning glory family, Convolvulaceae. They are prostrate, perennial, herbaceous plants, with creeping stems which take root readily at the leaf nodes. The flowers are white, greenish or yellowish, 2-3 mm diameter. The number of species is disputed, with some authors dividing the genus regionally into about ten separate species, while others accept only two species. Members of the genus are commonly known as ponysfoots and are native to tropical and warm temperate regions around the world. The genus name is derived from the Greek words ??? (dis), meaning "two", and ??????? (chondros), meaning "grain". It refers to the fruits. Planting Directions Dichondra can be grown from seed very easily. The recommended seeding rate for coated Dichondra is 3 pounds of seed per 1,000 square feet. The best time to sow Dichondra is from March through May; midsummer planting will germinate faster but will need careful, frequent waterings. Planting early will produce sturdy root systems that can take mid-summer heat and some water stress.

This blend of perennial ryegrass, creeping red fescue and Kentucky bluegrass is perfectly at home in the shady, cooler climate of the Pacific Northwest. These grasses are very shade and disease resistant, resulting in a superior look and feel you won't find anywhere else. The northwestern United States now has a grass seed blend to call its own. Introducing our specially formulated blend for western Oregon, Washington and northern California, this combination contains a mixture of three premium perennial ryegrass seeds, creeping red fescue and elite-type Kentucky bluegrass. The fescue provide excellent shade tolerance and disease resistance while the perennial ryegrass takes advantage of the cool, moderate of the Northwest to reach its full potential. Throw in some of our 'golf-grade' Kentucky bluegrass and you've got one of the best lawn seed blends you can get for the northwestern United States. This blend is great for use around homes, schools and parks due to its resistance to heavy traffic. It also has a higher salt tolerance than other lawn grasses.
